Glory Days

Yes, Hoss looks like a football player, but he is more of a ping pong kind of guy. His fellow classmates tried to recruit him for the line on the DS1 intramural flag football team last fall, but to no avail. As you can see, their persuasive antics were a little more effective this year.

And the DS2 season begins...

In the Huddle

Hoss blocking for one of his BF's (can you say BF when talking about guys?).

Now I get to watch my Hoss play football every Saturday for the next 9 weeks. Wait a sec, I am having a baby in 9 weeks! Crap!

Wonderment

One of the many reasons why I love my husband.

We are sitting on the couch watching a movie and eating ice cream, Hoss's favorite, cookie dough, and mine, double fudge brownie.

Hoss: Could we take the cookie dough out and bake it?
Rose: You're cute.

5 Years of MARRIAGE!

Feels like a lifetime, but it has been the best lifetime I have ever lived! I won't go into the deep down nitty gritty tell all of why my husband is the best, because well, I don't really care if anyone else thinks he is the best, but he sure rocks my world! I love him dearly and he knows I can't live without him and I certainly can't sleep without him!

After 5 years of marriage he still makes me laugh like this...

And he still kisses me like that!

Happy Anniversary Lover!

I couldn't have asked for a more ruggedly handsome manlier man with a bigger heart than you.

You loved me first but I love you best!

The Incident

We just spent a whirlwind of a weekend totaling 1315 miles of car travel in 36 hours, but more on that later. Our weekend ended with Hoss' mum n' pop following us home to Denver and among other things taking us out for an amazing breakfast at IHOP (I ate mine in less than 5 minutes), at which time what I am calling "The Incident" took place.

The Location
The hostess had just seated us at our table and the following occurred:

Hostess: Are you pregnant?
Rose: Yup (I thought I was at the point that people really don't have to ask, but I guess it is still questionable).
Hostess: It's a boy.
Hoss: Yes!
Hostess: Ah, you are the father?
Hoss: Yes, this is my wife.
Hostess: You are married?
Hoss: Yes
Hostess: You don't look married.
Hoss: Really?
Hostess: You look single.
Hoss: How does that look?
Hostess: You look like you are having too much fun to be married.

Uhh, was she hitting on my husband in front of his pregnant wife and his parents? Or insinuating that I looked boring? I don't know, but Hoss enjoyed flaunting his single look the rest of the day, and I guess I need to be harder on him so no other chicks mistake him as having too much fun and being single when I am not around to set them strait!

Wahoo!

HOSS PASSED HIS DENTAL BOARDS!

For anyone who doesn't know how big of a deal that is, well, it's huge. He opened the letter before I got home, so I didn't capture the moment on camera, but he is so glad, he has finally been able to relax and start some of our home improvement projects that we planned to do when we moved in. I am pretty excited too, I don't have to paint alone anymore!

Project #1: My Laundry Room and Half Bath

I didn't catch the before before picture, but this is after the demo before the upgrade...now that I have posted this pic that puts the pressure on to actually finish it so I can post an after pic.

Opposite, the Laundry Room

In other news, we spent a great weekend in Casper. It started out a bit rocky since I had to go to the dentist. I would really hate my dentist, except he is my father-in-law, unfortunately, by association he takes the rap for all previous dental and orthodontic experiences in my life, but it is nothing against him. We thought I had a cavity, but it turned out it was just a chipped filling, so he fixed that and then decided to take out a Wisdom tooth as well. I hate shots especially in the palate, and as my heart started beating in anticipation and the adrenaline started pumping MiniB started punching harder than ever and Daddy-to-be finally got to feel it. Soon after that he started drilling on my extracted tooth, which is apparently nothing like drilling on the plastic teeth in lab. Finally I had to drive myself home because when we go to Casper Hoss leaves me for his Father.

On a less numbing note, my amazing Queen of Garage Selling (that is her official title) mother-in-law found me a practically new Boppy (what a weird name for a pillow) which I have already put to use to keep the blankets from pushing down on my feet at night (the number of pillows I sleep with is increasing exponentially, the only trouble is when ever I move I have to re adjust all the pillows so part of me is still touching Hoss).

And the best thing she found was this...

...brand new, never been used or even opened, sewing machine, which she gave me as an early birthday present, and it was only $20! I would have to garage sale for weeks for a find like that, that's probably why I will stick to Craigslist, but I don't mind reaping the benefits of the Queen.

Who's the Smartest?

We have had a lot of new additions in the past few months, I am just too lazy to ever actually upload the photos from the camera to the computer...its so hard to plug in that cord...but I finally did it. And yes, there were pictures from 2008 still on the camera.

I'll start with my favorite purchase, we bought a new TV, or really I should just say we bought a TV. We have been TV-less for most of our marriage, and thanks to my big bro saying to Hoss, "If you don't buy one before the baby comes, you never will", we are the proud owners of a 47" Sony blah blah HDTV blah blah 12o hz blah blah stuff I don't know blah blah. We didn't spring for cable, but my techno savvy husband just hooks it to the laptop and we've got cyperspace in HD and larger than life.

We literally could not have fit another inch of TV in the backseat of our car...

The other two purchases are a real toss up for Hoss as far as his favorite. We upgraded one of our midget (can I still say that on the web without getting sued?) only room for 1 cheek toilets to an environmentally friendly use only what you need, low water flow, with #1 and #2 flush option, elongated bowl and Hoss's ever coveted comfort height so his legs don't fall asleep while doing his bsniss all for 107$ + tax! Too bad it was CO tax, but love SAMS Club.

...and with the toilet barely in the trunk we actually made it home.

And last but not least, Hoss finally got the real mans mans work truck he has been dreaming about, one that he actually looks like a normal sized person when driving kind of truck, just so he could haul all these sorts of purchases.

Unfortunately with my mush brain and his head full of things like biochem and pathology and studying for his board exam, we forgot to actually drive the truck, that we purchased first, to the store when we bought these truck worthy items. It works well as a receptacle for our discarded soda cups though. Who's the smartest? Safe to say it isn't us.

How come no one ever puts new posts up?

Well I've decided to make a new post. It will be as long as time allows. Hoss
