That's what Hoss said to me this morning around 6am. Poor guy was up late studying for a big test, so I figured that was why he was tired, but I was wrong.
"I'm tired" was followed by, "I stayed up too late playing with the baby".
My response: Ah, what? We haven't actually had the baby yet.
Hoss: You were asleep when I came to bed, and I put my hand on your belly and every time I would almost fall asleep the little guy/gal kicked my hand.
I am just glad they are bonding! Hopefully this means Hoss will not feel the need to "toughen" the baby up. Currently he tells the baby daily that it is sleeping on the floor the first night to test his/her survival skills. Don't worry, I already told him no.

We had a great visit from Hoss's parents this weekend. Hoss's mom brought him a Lego set she found at a garage sale that is remiss of his childhood and he is furiously attempting to do an inventory of the pieces and has downloaded the original instructions from the world wide web. I think Hoss does what every other grown man wishes he could be doing. Someday if he goes missing, I think he will have figured out how to fly and took him self to Never Never Land so he never has to grow up.
Hoss had game 3 of the Flag Football season and their record has improved from 1-1 to 2-1. Hoss took one guy to the ground, meaning Hoss stood in front of him and the guy ran into him and fell over. After that they put a tiny fast one in front of him, good thing the little guy was fast or he wouldn't have survived. I also learned from his mom that the bribe in high school was a motorcycle in exchange for playing football. He didn't take it. I think he would take it now.
Last but not least, I had an interesting exchange at the check out in WalMart with my father-in-law and realized either I look old or he looks young (in all honesty I think he is pretty good looking and is a very distinguished 50 something).
Perky check out girl: How many months are you?
Rose: Seven.
Perky: What are you having?
Rose: It's a surprise.
Perky: And is this the Daddy?
Rose: Ah, this is the Grandpa.
Perky: Ah, well you never know these days.
I don't know who blushed more, me, FIL, or Perky.

Glory Days
Yes, Hoss looks like a football player, but he is more of a ping pong kind of guy. His fellow classmates tried to recruit him for the line on the DS1 intramural flag football team last fall, but to no avail. As you can see, their persuasive antics were a little more effective this year.
And the DS2 season begins...

Now I get to watch my Hoss play football every Saturday for the next 9 weeks. Wait a sec, I am having a baby in 9 weeks! Crap!

Wonderment
One of the many reasons why I love my husband.
We are sitting on the couch watching a movie and eating ice cream, Hoss's favorite, cookie dough, and mine, double fudge brownie.
Hoss: Could we take the cookie dough out and bake it?
Rose: You're cute.

5 Years of MARRIAGE!
Feels like a lifetime, but it has been the best lifetime I have ever lived! I won't go into the deep down nitty gritty tell all of why my husband is the best, because well, I don't really care if anyone else thinks he is the best, but he sure rocks my world! I love him dearly and he knows I can't live without him and I certainly can't sleep without him!
After 5 years of marriage he still makes me laugh like this...
And he still kisses me like that!
You loved me first but I love you best!

The Incident
We just spent a whirlwind of a weekend totaling 1315 miles of car travel in 36 hours, but more on that later. Our weekend ended with Hoss' mum n' pop following us home to Denver and among other things taking us out for an amazing breakfast at IHOP (I ate mine in less than 5 minutes), at which time what I am calling "The Incident" took place.
The hostess had just seated us at our table and the following occurred:Hostess: Are you pregnant?
Rose: Yup (I thought I was at the point that people really don't have to ask, but I guess it is still questionable).
Hostess: It's a boy.
Hoss: Yes!
Hostess: Ah, you are the father?
Hoss: Yes, this is my wife.
Hostess: You are married?
Hoss: Yes
Hostess: You don't look married.
Hoss: Really?
Hostess: You look single.
Hoss: How does that look?
Hostess: You look like you are having too much fun to be married.
Uhh, was she hitting on my husband in front of his pregnant wife and his parents? Or insinuating that I looked boring? I don't know, but Hoss enjoyed flaunting his single look the rest of the day, and I guess I need to be harder on him so no other chicks mistake him as having too much fun and being single when I am not around to set them strait!
